June 2008 Pack 412 Campout at Indian Cave State Park
Pack 412 enjoyed a wonderful early summer campout in June 2008 at Indian Cave State Park. All Cub Scouts and their families were invited to a weekend of fun in the park. The Pack visited the reconstructed mid-19th century river settlement of St. Deroin. In the village the Cub Scouts saw how early settlers made old-time crafts such as lye soap, broom sticks, and candlesticks. There was a working blacksmith shop with a roaring forge.
Cubmaster Wurtele treated the Pack to two delicious Dutch oven treats on Saturday night. On Sunday morning the Pack enjoyed a hearty breakfast of home made Dutch oven donuts, monkey bread and Hungry Man breakfast casserole. Webelos Den Leader Deardoff showed the scouts how to make omelets in a bag.
